behind the lens - march and April 2020

Updated: Jun 2

Well we're now living a new "normal."  My work has changed a lot in the last two months, as I'm sure everyone's has. Some work has continued, a lot has been postponed. Here is what I've been doing to keep the business ticking over until we all meet again. I hope you're all well and staying safe. I'm looking forward to catching up face to face soon. Until then......

March & April 2020

The very last job I finished before lockdown, was for Metro Plumbers in Brighton. I took some interior photography of their stunning installations. Plus some headshots and documentary photography for their new website, which due to Covid19 has not been finished as yet.

How to go to work in style

I've been concentrating on small product photography since lockdown. First up was 13 beautiful leather handbags and suitcases from a local shop. The owner needed to move quickly and get a website built and her products uploaded. Working with Fiona atFAT Promotions, her website is in production soon to be launched

Second up for product photography was Changing Chances. They help schools to improve behaviour and reduce exclusion, leading to better life chances for kids. I had a number of props they use to photograph. Plus I roped in my son and husband to pose for some images for their website also being worked on byFAT Promotions.

I've been creating bespoke stock photography for Purple Cow Office Supplies and their social media.

We've had some fun thinking up new ideas from using Lego people to celebrating National Stationery Week. Here is delivery driver Geoff washing his hands.

As with many of us, Zoom has become a part of working life, with my networking BNI Chapter meeting each Thursday lunchtime. I think this might become a new normal for a lot of people, rather than travelling to meet face to face. I'm not sure, though, for me nothing beats sitting in front of someone and sharing a coffee and ideas.

Lastly a personal project I've been working on in the road I live, made it onto BBC South East Today on 17th April. Hurst Road during Covid19, is a living breathing project which is growing. We're hoping for a Towner Gallery exhibition after lockdown. Click below to see the news feature.

Stay safe and take care everyone.

If your clients need commercial photography, get in touch and lets chat over Zoom on how we can work together.
