One of my favourite things to shoot is food. Especially when I'm given creative carte blanch on the styling for the content.
I work a lot for marketing and PR agencies and one of my regular clients, Rose Media works alongside Southover Foods and it's various brands including Sussex Cured Meats.
Earlier this month I was asked to photograph a selection of joints and sliced meats for their new website.
With the produce delivered I set to work on creating imagery for the site that not only showed the products in packaging but styled, using complimentary props and produce.
It takes time to cook, style and shoot food, so my kitchen and studio was in constant use for 3 days. (the dog was in hell with all those lovely smells and scents)
I take inspiration from any previous shoots and I also use Pinterest a lot. I collect images for mood boards in order to gain ideas for different stylings.
The result after three days was a set of images that showed off the beautiful produce for Southover Foods. Using Flatlays and traditional shots, my target was to deliver mouthwatering imagery that can be used on and offline, in print, social media, large format and PR.
The clients were extremely happy with the images and I'm looking forward to seeing them online later this Autumn.
